David and Randy have been friends and lived in the Lake Norman area for 25 years, David grew up in Pittsburgh and Randy in Tennessee. They formed Waterside Docks and Piers in 2003. 

David and Randy bought the Catawba County property in 2020. After 6 months of renovations, Waterside Bar and Grill opened in August 2020. 
David and Marge have known each other for 20 years and share a love for beers and the Pittsburgh Steelers. Marge joined the team and is part owner and general manager of the Grill. Marge expanded the team quickly by welcoming Mark and Meredith as the Grill’s Kitchen Manager and Nic’s Gas and Go Manager.

New decking was just completed which will expand the lake viewing area of Waterside Bar and Grill to 205 feet. Nic’s Gas and Go will provide boaters with gas at a great price and the retail shop will offer live bait, snacks, drinks, ice, beer and wine.
Plans are underway to build and expand the marina to offer 70 wet slips for rent.
